For Madri van Zyl, designing and creating jewellery is an ever-evolving expression of creativity and joy. So it was only fitting that she called her brand, Illoni - a Finnish word meaning 'my joy'. After studying jewellery design at Stellenbosch University, Madri started Iloni from her Cape Town studio in 2015. Her approach to design embraces experimentation which has given rise to unique ready-to-wear pieces made from materials like silver, brass, rubber and pearls. Her designs are characterised by simplicity, understated detail and precise finishes, and Madri takes great pride in creating distinctive pieces that are comfortable and practical to wear. Illoni offers a custom design service, and understanding the value and significance that they hold, Madri works closely with her clients to create one-of-a-kind pieces that bring their unique vision to life.
